Question Wednesday fron Nykki's mane blog

Its Wednesday so that means blog hop time!!! Don't forget to check out the Creator of this blog hop Nykki from my mane blog for details and lots of other fun stuff! :)

This week is the Travel edition...

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

I have always wanted to go to Ireland, it looks so pretty over there. Oh, also Australia so I could travel the huge cities and run after kangaroos in the country. haha

2. Where is the coolest/best place you have ever traveled?

Ive never been anywhere cool, I suck. I guess the "coolest" would be the west coast of Florida and NYC. I have been to Canada a few times before I turned 21 and that was a fun time ;)

3. How do you feel about road trips?

I road trip it every year to Ohio, its around 11 hours and its fun/boring. I'm excited to come home and see everyone but its the same roads that I take to get there so there is never anything new to look at. I like taking short road trips those are always fun. Your not tired from being couped up in the car all day and if something happens then your not 700 miles away from where you live.

4. You just won two tickets to your dream vacation, who's going with you?

That would be my boyfriend Derek.

5. Airport security is only allowing you to take 3 make-up items with you, what are they?

Concealer, Lipgloss,Mascara
                                 See you next week,
                                             XOXO

Real Techniques Brushes

I was in need of new makeup brushes, most of mine have seen better days so when I got an Email from Ulta stating that Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman brushes were buy one get one half off, I purchased a few that Ive been needing.

All I can say about these brushes is...AWESOME!!

A little about the brushes components:
~The bristles are made of taklon, which is a synthetic polyester fiber to resemble real animal hair. This makes the brushes feel and act like the real thing without being the real thing. YAY for cruelty free brushes :)
~Because the bristles are a synthetic fiber they are also easy to clean
~The Furrells are made of aluminum and contain the name of the brush just in case you want to know what it is.
~The base of the brushes are a little bigger and more flat on the bottom than the normal brushes you see and because of this, it makes the brush able to stand upright. Ive noticed this for the face brushes I have but not the shadow brush.

Here are my brushes:

First up is the Powder Brush
Retails: $10 USD

This brush is actually quite large. When I first took it out of the package I thought to myself "Wow, that brush is as big as my face!" It does apply powder effortlessly and it feels so soft against my skin. Here is a photo comparing the Real Techniques powder brush to the Crown powder brush I was using.
.
The Real Techniques Powder Brush is much larger than my Crown brush.

Next Up...The Blush Brush

Retails: $9 USD

I love this blush brush. The shape of it is a little different and it is quite large but it can pick up blushes in one swipe that other brushes Ive used took a few swipes to get product on it. This brush has a slightly pointed tip so using a light hand makes it easy to apply highlight onto the cheekbones. This one is even softer than the powder brush.

My favorite brush is up next...The Expert Face Brush

Retails:$9 USD

This brush is alot firmer compared to the fluffiness of the last two. The bristles are alot shorter and are more of a paddle shape. I have been on the hunt for a brush to use with my Soleil Tan De Chanel  bronzer and I have finally found it!! It applys that bronzer wonderfully into the contours of my cheeks and is easily blended out. I have used it for foundation and it gives a flawless finish. Another great thing about it...it does NOT shed! Whoohoo I can finally apply liquid/cream products without picking little hairs off my face after I'm done.

The last brush I have is...The Shading Shadow Brush

Retails: $6 USD

This is you typical stiff shadow brush for applying shadow on the lid. I have noticed that most brushes of this type are only good for applying shadow to the lids, this brushes slight fluff on the tip makes it an all around eye brush. You can pack shadow onto the lids, apply shadow into the crease, inner corners of the eye and it also can be used to blend with.

I am really happy with these brushes and I am excited to add more to my collection.
HAVE YOU USED REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSHES?

XOXO

May Myglam bag

I have been on the fence about subscribing to the Myglam bag. I have heard horrible stories about the customer service and delayed or not shipped out bags, but I wanted to see for myself so I subscribed to the $10 dollar a month service. I received my bag before the estimated delivery date and nothing was damaged in shipping. So pin a rose on my nose huh?! haha
Now before I get into the actual products of the bag I just want to say a thing or two I did not like after opening the little pink bubble envelope,
1. The card that tells you what products are inside the bag does not have prices on the card nor does it have any website information to purchase the products from or coupons or anything.

2. The actual makeup bag is a little janky (is that a real word? Owell haha) Its made of cute sky blue satin type material with stamped on pink lips but it seems very thin which makes me think it will break easily. :(
OK enough bitching, here is whats in my first Myglam bag.
Miss Beauty Nail Bling
Studio Gear Complete Color Lipstick
Myglam Concealer and eyeliner brush
Philosophy Love Sweet Love Spray Fragrance- Its not in a spray bottle though, though that was a little funny. It does smell good, kind of fruity :)

Miss Beauty Nail Bling- These nail stickers look cute. I feel like they are great for a younger age group but I don't care Ill try them out.

(Full Size) Studio Gear Complete Color Lipstick in color Smile. It is said to plump and hydrate the lips. After looking online the price of this lipstick is $15USD which pays for the price of the bag + some. I like this color, it is a darker copper that has a hint of gold flecks, as for the finish, Im not really sure. It doesn't say on the package and I suck at guessing lipstick finishes maybe a pearl/satin mix?  The packaging is plastic with a rubber overlay which I think is nice. Ive seen studio gear products at Ulta but have never purchased any.
The Myglam brushes are eh. They aren't anything special. The one on the left, I'm guessing, is the concealer brush, I think it is a bit small to conceal anything other than a baby zit and the one on the right, the eyeliner brush, could be good for smudging shadow onto your lids or under the eyes as liner but I'm not sure if it would be good for gel liner or not. I need to test these out. These brushes were the last ones in the Myglam brush set so I'm interested in what they are going to put in the bags next month. From past reviews Ive read, more people are not in favor of the brushes to the ones that are in favor. Maybe that is why they are not continuing with them.

This bag was just OK, I'm happy with it enough to keep my subscription for another month.

HOW DID YOU LIKE YOUR MYGLAM BAG?

Nykki's mane blog Question Wednesday. PETS! :)

Its Question Wednesday blog hop time!! Don't forget to follow the Creator of this blog hop, Nykki from my mane blog she has a super cute blog with tons of fun and informative posts :)

This weeks hop is all about PETS!!!

1. How many pets do you have & what are their names?

As of right now I have one mixed breed dog that I adopted from a local shelter. I'm not completely sure what kind of dog she is but I am guessing she is a beagle/terrier mix. Her name is Lola Belle. We usually call her just Lola but she has a middle name too :)

2. Why do you have pets?

I have always wanted a dog, growing up I was not allowed to have one and now that I am  older and can do what I want I decided to adopt a dog about a year ago. I'm glad I did, even though she is a total crazy, hyper spaz she is also very loving and if I'm having a bad day she brightens it up.
3. What is your dream pet? {Breed, Kind, etc.}

I'm more of a small to medium dog person. I could never have a dog that weighed as much as I do, it would knock me over if it jumped on me. Ive always wanted a Yorkie or an Alaskan Klee Kai (its basically a Husky only miniature). Both breeds are really expensive so I doubt Ill ever buy one, plus there are so many dogs in shelters that I would feel bad for spending so much money on a dog knowing there are lovable ones waiting to be adopted.
4. If you could domesticate any wild animal and have it for a pet, which would it be?

A penguin. I mean come on, how cool would it be to have a freaking penguin waddling around!? :D

5. Let's solve the biggest pet debate: Cats or Dogs?

Ive had cats in the past. I like cats, they are pretty easy to take care of but I cant clean the litterbox. The smell of it makes my eyes hurt and I cant breathe. I must be allergic to cat poop or something. Plus most cats are very independent. Ive had one cat that acted like a dog but the one I grew up with would run and hide and would only come out to lay with my mom when she was watching TV. So, the answer to the question is dogs. Dogs are alot more fun. :)
If you follow me on Instagram Im always posting dog pics so Im sorry If your not a dog person and your timeline gets full of them. :/ But for those of you that enjoy that type of thing, heres a few of her :)

She has extremely long legs for a small dog and it is so funny seeing what she does with them when she sleeps. Plus, her feet smell and she is clearly laying face to foot in this picture. What a weirdo haha. :)

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!!

Arbonne FC5 Mattifying Powder

This is my very first Arbonne purchase and I am loving it. The only thing about getting ahold of these products is that you have to purchase them through a beauty consultant. No going to the closest department store for this stuff. Lucky for me, my boyfriends aunt sells it! Its pretty much like ordering products through Avon or Mary Kay only Arbonnes products are more environmentally friendly than the others. A little bit about Arbonne as stated on their website:

"At Arbonne, beauty begins with premium botanical ingredients, innovative scientific discovery, and an unwavering commitment to pure, safe and beneficial products. Arbonne creates personal care and wellness products that preserve and enhance the skin, body and mind for an integrative approach to beauty. Working closely with scientists around the world and our Arbonne Institute of Research and Development (AIRD®) facility in Switzerland, we continually explore and develop scientifically advanced, botanically based proprietary formulas that meet our exacting standards for quality, safety and sustainability."

I have been using this FC5 powder for about two months now and it is one of my favorite setting powders for use oily/combination skin girls.

When you open up the compact it comes with a powder puff just like most other powders.Im not really into the puffs so I usually just toss them or put them in one of my makeup drawers in case I need it for something. It has an attached mirror on the top part of the compact. Now when you look at the actual pressed powder, its a little different than your normal translucent setting powders because this one is...
Light green. Not only does this powder mattify your face wonderfully but it also takes away any redness you may have and blends seamlessly into the skin. No green cast at all. Another odd thing about this powder is that instead of applying it on top of your makeup you can also use it on your face before you put your moisturizer on to help matte your face from the get go. So if your extremely oily you can have a layer under your makeup and a layer on top of your makeup for extra "matte-ness". Honestly, I forget to apply it on my face before I put on foundation but I have used this stuff alone on days that I do not feel like wearing makeup, but do not want to walk around looking like a grease ball.
This is a heavy swatch of the powder on my hand. Top portion is the powder swiped on from my finger to my hand and the bottom portion is it blended in.

Even with the heavier swatch it blends into the skin very nicely. This powder feels smooth on the skin and practically lasts all day. I think I touched it up once. But mind you, I do live in a very humid climate so getting shiny happens fast around this place. Im sure if I put it on under my foundation I would not have needed to touch up.
This powder retails for $26USD and you can purchase it through your local Arbonne consultant or HERE.

HAVE YOU TRIED ARBONNE PRODUCTS? HOW DID YOU LIKE THEM?

May 2012 Birchbox Gossip Girl

May 2012 Birchbox samples are inspired by the show Gossip Girl. Birchbox states that
"This collection has exactly what an uptown girl needs for summer"
Now, I do not watch this show so I honestly have no idea if these products have anything to do with it.
It came in a black box instead of the normal bright pink and the birchbox itself was in cased in a Gossip Girl city scene.
The next 3 things are the "extras" that were included in this months box.

A cute little hugs and kisses notecard. 12 cards retails for $10USD

Kerastase Cristalliste Bain Cristal Shampoo packet. Full Size Retails for $36USD
Kerastase Cristalliste Lait Cristal Conditioner packet. Full Size Retails $39USD

Heres what else was in the box:
Algenist- Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer-Full Size Retails for $90USD. This moisturizer uses a microalge compound to delay the aging process.
I have not used this yet but, the smell of it is awful, hopefully it does not linger when applied to the face.

Kerastase Cristalliste Lumiere Liquide- Full Size Retails for $42USD. This is a lightweight serum used on dry hair to create shine.

Miracle Skin Transformer Body SPF 20 in color Glow- Full Size Retails for $34USD. This tinted body treatment hides scars and blemishes on arms legs and chest. I'm most excited about this product, I have heard wonderful things about the brand and I have a huge burn mark on my leg from a curling iron and I cant wait t see if this covers it up.

Color Club Nail Polish in color Clambake Coral- Full Size Retails for $8USD. A very pretty orange based coral color.

Color Club Clambake Coral

I'm pleased with this months box. I know alot of people received an eye liner but like last month I think my box was a little different than most other ones sent out.

WHAT WAS IN YOUR MAY BIRCHBOX? WAS IT SIMILAR TO MINE?
Have you joined Birchbox yet? Its only 10 bucks a month.

Question Wednesday

Hello everybody, I am here today with another Question Wednesday blog hop post from Nikki's mane blog. Don't forget to check her blog out!!! This edition is all about spring.

1. What is your favorite season && why?
I love summer! I live in the south so it is VERY hot and humid but a little beach or pool time and your fine. I love the feeling of summer, the happy vibe everyone has,the smell of the salt in the air, the taste of Bar-B-Q chicken and lots of yummy fruit. :)
2. What is your favorite flower?
I love Gerber Daisy's! There so pretty and bright. I also like tulips, and lilacs. Whats funny is the fact that I cant stand the smell of them. I love looking at them but if I smell them i get a headache.
3. What is the current trend that you love, but haven't or wouldn't try? {{if you are fearless, what is one that you have tried && loved}}

Honestly I think Ive tried most of the trends for the spring. There is none (that I can think of) that I wouldn't try. My favorite one to wear is the neon trend. Ive been on the hunt for some neon shorts!

4. How would you spend an ideal spring day?
I would have a few friends at my house, grilling out and drinking beer, talking about whatever while we watch the guys play cornhole. :)
5. What do you love most about the spring months?
The milder temperatures and the fact that there is grass on the ground. By the time summer comes it ll be 110 degrees out and all of the green grass will be brown and dead.
DONT FORGET TO LINK UP ON QUESTION WEDNESDAY!!

Whats that weirdness in your purse.

I tend to carry bags that are a little too big for me, I know I'm not the only one out there, but it is kind of funny to get asked questions like..."How can a girl so small, have that much stuff to carry around?" or "That bag is bigger than you!". Well I'm not sure why I carry around huge bags, I just like to shove stuff in them. But no matter what I always keep these few things in my bag at all times, so if the bag doesn't fit these things than I wont use it! Now mind you, most of these things aren't the normal old wallet, keys, makeup, Advil, hairbrush types of things that are found in my bag, but  are my random "extras" I keep with me. So in other words this is not a full "Whats in my bag?" tag.
Here is the bag I'm currently using:
Its a NEON highlighter yellow crossbody bag that I found at Target. It is made of some weird type of plastic faux leather stuff and has an adjustable strap so you don't have to wear it crossbody if you don't want to. I have also been using it as my everyday bag so some of the stuff I wear clashes with it, and I really don't care, so :P

The first thing that is always in my bag is,
Well first few things are a pencil a pen and a highlighter. You never know when you'll need them. The only stupid thing is, is that I never have a mini notebook or journal in my bag so if I need to write something down then I dig for 20 minutes looking for a receipt or something. *note to self, get a notebook dumbass ;)* oh and the Ink Joy pens are AWESOME!!! They write so smooth.

On to the next thing:

Hand Sanitizer and Hand lotion. Another normal thing in a women's handbag. For some reason gas pumps gross me out so I always use hand sanitizer after Ive touched one and the lotion is for the obvious reason of combating dry hands, although I sometimes put it on if I'm bored waiting in line somewhere.

Im sure alot of lady's carry this next thing in their bags
Food! Doesn't have to be a banana, but some type of food. I just happened to want a banana that day. Sometimes I have healthy stuff and sometimes I have 5 candy bars and a fruit roll up in there. And if I'm going to the movies Ive had a cheeseburger or two in there once or twice. haha

The last thing is kinda stupid but I know some people carry lucky charms with them, whether it is a picture, a quote, a Buddha or other figurines or whatever by my "lucky charm" is this

A freaking poop bag! Bahahaha yes a poop bag. I am accident prone and drop stuff and brake stuff and everything else so even if I don't have my dog with me I'm going to need this bag to put something in that busts in my purse or bloody napkins from a skinned knee I just got or whatever else you can think of. Its not just for my dogs poop. :) Almost everytime I forget to put a bag in my purse something happens to the point that I would need one then I'm basically screwed. haha I know right, What a weirdo?!

HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS POST. DO YOU HAVE ANY ODDBALL THINGS YOU KEEP IN YOUR BAG?
