NYX Round Lipstick in POWER!

I don't know what it is about this lipstick, it could be because I have never owned a lipstick this color before or because I am tired of wearing the normal coral color in the summer, but either way and I am LOVING this lipstick!! It is the NYX round lipstick in the color POWER.
I discovered this color through my June Myglam bag :) So thank you Myglam for sending this lipstick to me after I did not receive one in my bag that month. You can read about my June myglam mishap Here.

I have never used such an interesting tone of purple/pink on my lips before. I took one look at it and thought "Eh, Am I going to look right in this?" This shade is not for everyone, it is a little daring of a color, you know, something that Rihanna would wear, but somehow it works for me!
The formula is very creamy and the color is vibrant.

Staying Power

The staying power of this lipstick is great. It will last a good 4 to 5 hours as long as I am not talking a ton.

Shade Range

The NYX round lipsticks come in 144 shades! WOW!! That would be an awesome collection right there now. ;)

Likes

-So many colors to choose from
-Very opaque color after 1 swipe onto the lips
-Affordable at $4 USD
-No problem with settling into lines
-Cute packaging with the color showing at the bottom of the tube

Dislikes

-Because the color is so Opaque it would be best to use a mirror when applying this lipstick to make sure the application is precise. Its definitely not a swipe and go type of color
-Feels moisturizing at first but as it wears it can feel a little drying. I usually use a lip quenching product under this

When it comes down to it, this lipstick is great and I have been tossing it into my purse everyday since I got it. I will be purchasing other colors to try out. :)

HAVE YOU USED NYX ROUND LIPSTICK?

Birchbox July 2012- Glamour

This month Birchbox has teamed up with Glamour and because their latest issue is all about the 5 senses of summer they wanted to make a birchbox with a multi-sensory experience!

The cute little box cover :)
The back of the box cover and inside the box.

(L-R, T-B)
AHAVA purifying mud mask- 4.3oz bottle retails for $31 USD. Fast acting mask detoxifies the skin with Dead Sea mud and Kaolin white clay. Im excited to try this mask, after all of the new house projects I am going to need a product like this.
Earbuds (Birchbox  lifestyle extra)- These earphones are so cute and are currently NOT for sale on the birchbox site so, it makes it an extra special treat for all of us subscribers to get these earphones. They are pink and blue!! cute cute!! :)

Laura Geller Double Dipped Lipstick in Caribbean Kiss- This is a full size lipstick and it retails for $17.50 USD. What is cool about this lipstick is that it is two sided. One side is a rosy pink and the other side is a bronze pink.

Oscar de la Renta, live in love perfume- 50ml bottle retails for $78 USD-  This perfume contains notes of  jasmine sambac, rose, ginger orchid, and amber.
Manna Kadar sheer glo shimmer lotion- 1oz bottle retails for $29 USD. This illuminating liquid can be mixed with foundation for an all over glow or as a highlighter. This sample I was a little disappointed with because it comes in a small tube with a pull off lid that does not go back on so...you pretty much have to use it all in one try or the product will drip out of the tube and get everywhere.

What was in your July birchbox?
If you would like to join this $10 dollar a month subscription service I have provided my referral link right HERE. :)

Face Paint Friday- A fun rainbow look...

Around this time last year (2011) I posted THIS look. In case you haven't seen it, it was a pretty rainbow look using a very in expensive palette and well, I like rainbow looks so I decided to do another  look using the Victoria's Secret Summer Seduction palette (yes, this is my second look with this palette,) Maybe on day I will figure out how to use all the colors of the rainbow in a look. Red shadow makes me look sick so I never use it. :/

Oh, and I am sorry about my eyebrows in these photos, they are a little crazy!

L'Oreal Color Caresse Colour Riche Lipstick

I decided to take a little shopping trip to Target for a few odds and ends a few days ago and of course I walked up and down the beauty isles and this little display caught my eye...

Now, this is not the actual display at my local target but this is the same type of set up that was there only with different products missing from the sections.
What caught my eye was the fun summery lipstick colors that were at my eye level (im short ok) so of course I had to get one.
I wanted to stay away from light pinks because I have a light pink lipbutter that Ive been wearing alot and wanted to try something else. So, why not go for coral, that's summery, right? :)
The Color Riche packaging can be somewhat annoying if your not paying attention to how you are placing the cap back on. The picture above shows the gold part locking with the coral part and you have to make sure those ends match up or "inter lock"together or the cap wont click into place. Other than that...
I love the sleek gold packaging. It looks expensive. :) The size of the lipstick makes it very easy to apply. It is smaller in size and for me thats a good thing because I do not have much for lips so some  most lipsticks can be to large causing me to apply the product outside my natural lipline. That is NOT a cute look :/

I thought Sunset Angora was the perfect everyday coral color. This color is more on the pink side of coral rather than orange. It is not overly bright so it can easily be a "slap on and go" type of lipcolor.

The formula of this lipstick is very creamy and it feels moisturising on the lips. As for staying power I found it to last a few hours as long as I was not drinking anything or talking a whole lot.

Have you tried Color Caresse Colour Riche Lipstick? Which color is your favorite?

XOXO,

Victoria's Secret Summer Seduction Eye Kit Swatches and Review

I decided to go shopping during Victoria's Secret semi annual sale and well, I bought ZERO underpants but I picked up this really cute palette for only $7 USD. It was originally $28 USD. That's a steal right there now.

Summer Seduction Eye Kit- this kit contains 10 eyeshadows, a small dual ended brush(that I never use) and a black eyeliner.

I saw this palette awhile ago and thought it was pretty but didn't want to spend the money on it.

Swatches are in natural sunlight and have Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base

(L-R)
Cream,Copper,Purple,Green,Black

(L-R)
Champagne,Gold,Bronze,Blue,Brown

Shadow Formula
  • Shimmers- Feel smooth and easy to pick up with brushes
  • Mattes- Not exactly chalky but they have alot of dust when picking up the product with a brush
  • They could have though of better names than using the obvious ones ya know?
Application
  • Shimmers- go on easy and can be buildable and blend well
  • Mattes- Even with the dust these shades apply great and can blend well, the black color might be the hardest to blend with but black shadow is always a little harder to work with anyway and the blue color I noticed had the most dust when used.
Packaging
  •  Cute purple flip up box with a magnetic closure
  • Mirror on inside of box
  • Shadows, liner and brush are encased in a thin plastic divider
  • Metal pans that contain the shadows are attached to the plastic with a tiny bit of glue. Some of my shadows have become unattached to the plastic so I have to be careful when I move the palette around to not break the shadows. I am thinking about taking all of them off the plastic and transferring them to a z-palette.
Liner
  • Feels creamy
  • applys easy and can be smoked out
  • very black
All around I think this is a really nice palette. Im not sure it is worth $28USD but for $7USD its great! If you see this palette on sale at your local Victoria's Secret I would give it a try.

XoXo,
Do you guys like this signature?

Influenster Summer Beauty Voxbox!

I am so excited to receive my second Influenster voxbox this year!! The first one I got was the Love voxbox (If you would like to see my 1st voxbox post as well as more information on joining Influenster to receive your own voxbox please click HERE)  I was completely happy with all the products I got to try out,as for this one...

When opening my box I did not receive a card that stated the product information/prices so I have no idea how much full sizes are or what the company of each product is trying to market but, looking at the products I am just as pleased with them as the last voxbox I received.

Here is what my box contained...
The radiant package in the back is by Always and contains

3 Unscented Liners
2 Unscented Tampons

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Total Care Shampoo and Conditioner. These bottles are a nice size at 3oz
I have never heard of this brand before and I have not used shampoo and conditioner from anywhere else other than salons since I started working in salons 10 years ago so this will be something new for me!

Quaker Banana Nut Bread Soft Baked Bar. This looks yummy and it says you can warm it up in the microwave. mmm cant wait to try it. :)

Sally Hansen Nails  & Cuticles Hand Creme 24hr Moisture- Shea butter, Softens hands, conditions nails and  smooths cuticles. 1oz bottle

Sally Hansen Magnetic nail color in color Silver Elements. I am really excited to try this polish, I have never used any magnetic polishes and I'm glad I get to try this one out.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Broad Spectrum SPF 30.

With its ultra-luxurious hydrating silk ribbons, Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration™ lotion sunscreen nourishes and pampers skin while providing broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection, and 12-hour moisturization when out in the sun."

This is another product I am excited to try out, I have seen this in a few stores already and I have picked it up from the shelf a few times carried it around and put it back on the shelf because I was not sure how I would like it and did not know if I should purchase it or not so, I am really happy to see this 2oz bottle in my box.

Cant wait to try these products out and let all of my Junkies know what I think about them!

XoXo,
Do you guys like this signature? Im still trying to find one I like.

my mane blog Question Wednesday.

Wow, I have missed like a month of Nykki's mane blog Question Wednesday  blog hop posts, BAD BLOGGER!!! I better get back on track for the next 2 weeks before I move and wont be able to blog at all for a few weeks :( Anyway, On to the post!

This Week's Theme {Hair}  comes from Miss L over at Beauty by Miss L.

- What is your natural hair color? Are you happy with it?
My natural hair color is Brown, for  all you cosmo girls out there it is around a level 5

- Do you dye your hair? If yes then do you do it yourself or go to a salon?
You'd think I would since I work in a hair salon but to tell you the truth, I havent colored my hair since last September! O.o I used to color it all the time staying 1 or 2 shades lighter or darker. And since I work in a salon, I have one of my coworkers slap the color on. I have done it myself and its annoying and messy!!
- What is your must have hair care product?
That's a hard one! I have sooo many hair products but as of right now it has to be my Aveda Be Curly Style Prep. It fights frizz and doesn't weigh my wavy hair down :)

Be Curly™ Style-Prep™
source
- What is the worst hair care product that you have ever used?
I don't care for shampoo and conditioner from the drugstore or walmart/target. They are all full of wax and nasty stuff and I can feel a buildup in my hair after one use of the product.
- Do you have any good tips or homemade recipes for long and pretty hair?
Always use a heat protector if your going to use any heat on your hair, dont shampoo your hair everyday as it can make your scalp over produce oil if you do, conditioner is your best friend, and please, if you color your hair black and want to be blonde dont bleach your hair out 3 times in a row...it'll more and likely break off! (if seen that too many times)

                                                   Well until next week!!!
