How to make a T-shirt scarf

Ive been seeing a lot of tshirt scarfs within the last few months, so I decided to try it out.
                                                  Heres how to do it:

I bought this shirt from the local goodwill for CHEAP!
Cut off the hem (you will use this to tie the scarf together later)
Cut 1 to 2 inch strips across the length of the shirt stopping right under the armpit.
Pull on the strips until they fold over each other and look like ropes, then put your hand through each rope so they form a loop.

Take the hem of the shirt from earlier wrap it around one end of the loops to keep them together. I used hot glue to make sure it stayed.
For a little extra fun I saved 2 of the ropes and bought some chain from walmart and braided them together. I glued them in at the end where the end of the scarf was wrapped.
All finished!!

December Birchbox

A quick overview of my December box:

This months box has things to get you ready for those holidy parties.

(left to right)
Benefit pore fessional face primeer- this stuff helps shrink pore size
Jouer gloss- in color, Birchbox Pink- This color was specially made for birchbox and it a very sheer fushia

Birchbox pink swatch

Yogini perfume- This perfume has hints of sandlewood, myrrh and grapefruit. I am not a big sandlewood scent person so I thing this perfume smells awful! :(

Nuxe dry oil- This oil absorbs fast and leaves a nice shimmer. Will be fun for summer all over the legs to give a little sheen and glow!

(left to right)
Treates this month were:
EBoost- energy Vitamin C boost drink packette, to help give some energy while your out at holiday parties.
Showstoppers- double sided tape, to help your dress stay on! :)

My december box was another ok box. Im honestly not sure if Im going to continue with the service or not. Ill give it another month or two then Ill make a decision.

Purple

I love Mac eyeshadow in sketch! It is so pretty. All I did for this look is put down an eyeshadow base, sweep sketch all over my lid and used all that glitters by Mac on my browbone.

Nars Bysance look

I decided to do a very basic eye look with my Nars Bysance duo just to show the colors. I have been using this a lot. I love the gold color for holiday looks.

added a little MAC- macroviolet gel liner to amp up the purple.

My favorite holiday candles!

I love it when the holiday season comes around, I love seeing all the decorations and lights everywhere, the smell of christmas in the house..I also love the smell of holiday candles! Here are my favorite 3... all are from Bath and Body Works, Slatkin & Co.

Spice description stated on bottom of candle "The perfect Christmas spice- Red hot cinnamon, warm clove and spiced orange peel."
I can actually smell all 3 scents in this candle! It is the perfect candle to burn on cool nights as it makes my whole place feel warmer.

Marshmallow Fireside description on candle " Toasted marshmallows and sweet vanilla cream wrapped in the aroma of rich smoldering woods."
I think it smells like marshmallow mixed with mens cologne...Im sure that doesnt seem like it would smell good but it works and this candle is one of my favorites so far!

Tis the season description on candle "Golden apples, pine needles, and holiday cider are combined with a touch of ground cinnamon."
I am not a fan of pine smells but this candle has just a hint of pine and more of a cider scent, I love burning this one any time of day.

This little candle holder is my favorite. Love the snowflakes :)

Scarf

I have been attempting to teach myself how to crochet. I have wanted to learn how to do this for a long time and I decided now seemed like a good time. My first project was a scarf. It came out ok...it's a bit lopsided and one end is wider than the other but all and all not bad for my first attempt. Hopefully soon I'll be able to take a class that micheals offers. Then I'll learn how to really do this.

Thrift store outfit...Take 1

I finally got a chance to wear my leopard/cheetah (whatever you want to call it) printed shirt I found at the thrift store. I had a friend in town so I met her at her hotel on the beach and had her quickly take a few pictures before we went out on a shopping day. Here is what I wore with it:

                                    Shirt: Thrifted
                                    Belt: Wet Seal- around $6.00
                                    Skirt: Old Navy- $10.00
                                    Tights: Target- $5.00
I don't remember where I bought the flats or how much they were because Ive had them forever. I really wanted to wear red ones but didn't have any so I thought these would work out fine.

November Birchbox!

Sorry I didn't put up an October box, the products in that one didn't really strike my fancy so I decided not to put one up, however this months I'm liking so here it is...
This months box has products that are gift worthy for the holidays, to me the products are more of get ready for a holiday party theme but that's okay.

left to right
Oscar Blandi- Protein mist-This spray can be used as a leave in conditioner in wet hair (that's how I use it) or a thermal protector on dry hair. It seems to work nice, my only complaint is that it smells like lemon cleaner.

LaRocca skincare- Champagne and shimmer Acai body scrub- I have not had a chance to use this yet but I did test it out on my hands and it feels nice. The exfoliater itself feels like sand mixed with oil but it left my hands super soft and it smells great.

Zoya Polish-Noel- The color is a shimmery blue with a hint of silver flecks. The name throws me off a bit because when I think of the word noel the color green pops into my head not blue, but I could be weird.

Klorane- makeup remover- This paraben free eye makeup remover is made up of cornflower water and works amazing taking off heavy eye makeup but yet again with the smell thing, it smells like someone shoved a handful of dandelion's in a bottle. Not good, not good at all!

Choco Pod-Firecracker chocolate- This little chocolate I almost forgot to put in the post hints the opened wrapper. The actual chocolates(that I cant show you because I ate it) are individually wrapped and  are shaped like coffee beans. This one is made of dark chocolate, chipotle salt and popping candy, sounds gross but is actually good. I'm not good with describing tastes but lets just say the chipotle gives it a little kick...In a good way :)

I also got a special gift in my birchbox because I have bought  products from the birchbox site, left feedback, referred friends etc...Its a BaubleBar bracelet. Super cute

I checked out the BaubleBar site and this bracelet retails for $20.00

These bracelets would be super cute mixed together with another  similar to it and a few leather and glitter bracelets.

EOS Chapstick Rant

There has been a huge hype over the little ball looking chapsticks made by EOS, they have been getting great reviews so of course I had to try one out...I was really disappointed. :(

I will say that it smells great, like tropical fruit, and is easy to find in my purse but, that's about it! It goes on very waxy and feels like a film over my lips. It also dried out my lips so much that they started to crack and I had to buy a lip treatment to get the moisture back. I do not live in a climate that is very cold so that was not a factor on my driness nor did I ever have driness issues in the past, so this product had to be the culprit.
I really wanted to like these too...maybe I bought a defective one on accident.

Beauty Mail!

Decided to check out Sephora.com to see what they had and noticed Nars had a couple duo eye shadows on sale for 10 bucks so, I picked one of them up...plus a few other things.

This duo is called BYSANCE...No idea what the name means but the shadows are very pretty. They are both shimmery  and very pigmented. I love gold and purple together so I was excited to see this. :)

Swatches are done without a base and they came up pretty good.  They last a long time. I used  my clinique makeup remover and had to do it twice because the purple one wanted to stay on my hand.

Laura does London collection, By bare essentials

(Left to Right)
London- a baby pink lipstick that (on my lips) appears slightly matte.
Laura-  a bright fuchsia gloss that is highly pigmented!
Both of these lip products claim to plump, so they do have that tingly feel, although, it seems to last a lot longer than other plumper's Ive used in the past.  I have never noticed any plumping action with any lip plumper, and this one was no exception.

Tokidoki gloss in the color Burger (see the little hamburger in the cap...cute huh?!)
This is a new brand to me. I have seen some of their eye shadows in the sephora store,  but have never bought any.  This gloss was on sale so I decided to try it out.

It is a very sheer orange gloss that if worn alone only leaves a hint of color.  It feels creamy on the lips and isn't sticky on me.

The applicator is odd...its a plastic tip...no brush, no sponge, just a rounded bendable plastic. Weird!

Cliniques almost lipstick in Black Honey. This is  a popular lip product that I have had in gloss form in the past but not lipstick form.

The swatch looks like blood on my hand but in real life its a shear berry color

oh I got a nail polish too...thought it was a pretty fall color
