Stress- Fix

                                                                Stress-fix
Aveda has a new line of Ecocert certified organic stress relieving products made with organic French Lavender, lavandin and clary sage to help take your stress away. A tub of bath salts, oil concentrate, and a body lotion make up the new Stress-fix line. I don't usually do post like this but I was so excited when these products came to our salon! I love taking lavender baths after a stressful day at work. So I wanted to tell all of you about these wonderful products. I will say that they do smell like lavender. It is an overpowering scent in the bottles but when you use the products the smell isn't as potent.

Stress-fix body lotion- A great way to end your stress relieving bath is to apply this lotion all over your body. It is super moisturizing and not to heavy so you wont have to worry about lotion getting all over your sheets when you tuck yourself into bed. I use this lotion all the time.:)

And to take your special bath time one step farther Aveda has Limited Edition Earth Month Lavender candles
(Source)$12 USD
These candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and are infused with the lavender essential oils with added other plant and flower extracts. Whats cool about the glass container is that it is made from recycled wine bottles. (during the holidays aveda has another limited edition candle and last year that holder was made from recycled beer bottles)
Proceeds of candle purchase will go towards giving clean water to countries that do not have it.

Mint Colored Maxi Dress!

This is an outfit I wore last week on one of our 80 degree days. I was excited to wear this maxi dress because I bought it in the fall and have not been able to wear it because its been a little chilly outside. This dress was purchased at Forever XXI for 10 bucks...well I actually bought two, this pretty mint colored one and a yellow one. The dress itself is made of Rayon so it other words, its a cheap alternative to silk. It is very thin and it is see thru so I had to purchase a slip to go underneath it and it also wrinkles easily. Other than that I love this dress. It is so comfortable! I really like this short alternative right HERE.

(I mean dang look at all the crap I have on the floor. haha I never know what I want to wear so I just toss junk around until I find something I like :/ I need to stop being so messy getting ready!!!)

I decided to add this cute little belt to add a little fun to an all around pretty plain looking dress. I got this belt in a pack of 3 from Charlotte Russe for around 10 dollars. I went back a few weeks ago to pick up another pack of belts but could not find any so :P on them. I did however find a similar floral belt to the one I have right HERE
My shoes were purchased last summer at the GUESS outlet near my house. I don't remember the price, but I do know they were on sale. A similar style I found HERE

WOULD YOU WEAR THIS DRESS?

"Kiss Nail Dress"

Another fun product in my  Influenster Lovevoxbox was a set of Kiss nail dress nail stickers in the pattern body suit.

These nail adhesives are close to the Sally Hanson except you have more sizes to choose from and the left over ones can be used again. When first opening this box I was surprised by the smell. I was thinking that it would have a nail polish smell to it but instead I had a big whiff of plastic. It reminded me of cheap children's toys. Once you get used to the smell these nail adhesives are easy to apply, all you do is find the size you need, peel it off the plastic and place it on your nail. You can smooth out and bumps or ridges with your finger and I used scissors to remove any remaining sticker. The little file that comes with the Kiss nail dress Is great for filing the tips of  the nail to make sure all of the sticker comes off your skin between your nail and finger.

I have had these on for 4 days now and they have not chipped at all!! They do have a topcoat already on them so there is no need to use one. With  that being said and knowing how hard I am on my nails I put a topcoat on after 2 days and they are still going strong! I would highly recommend these nail adhesives over the Sally Hanson ones any day.
At around $6.99 USD they are a bit cheaper than the Sally Hanson ones and you can purchase these pretty much anywhere! Ive seen them at CVS, target and walmart you can also buy them HERE.

Teen Vogue Birchbox

My March Birchbox was a collabration with Teen Vogue.

Stated on information card in box:
"You’re in for a treat. This month, we’ve partnered with our friends at Teen Vogue to put together an exciting Birchbox that will help you get ready for all your spring formals and special events. After all, isn’t getting dolled up half the fun?"

Well as soon as I read that I was thinking "Im 27, I dont have formals to go to...what is in this box that Im actually going to use?"

Turns out that I have used EVERYTHING in this box! Who knew?!

HERES WHATS INSIDE:

Annick Goutal,Petite Cherie- Perfume sample, Retails: $85 USD. This smells amazing! Has a sweet fruity scent. to bad its way to expensive or I would of bought it.

twistband, Hair Tie- A pretty gold colored Elastic that does not snag your hair. Retails: $18 USD for a 12 pack. I will say that I have used it a few times and it stretches out way to easy.

Shiseido Purness Oil-Control Blotting Tissues- Retails: $18 USD for 100 sheets. The sheets have transparent rice powder on them to mattify your face.

FULL SIZE tart LipSurgence lip tint, in color peaceful- Retails: $24 USD.  A pretty nude/gold tint.

As per description on my information card:
"This long-lasting stain adds rich pigment and is designed to boost the moisture levels in your lips."

I think this color is a little to light and sheer for me. Its pretty, but my natural lip color is a mauve color so this tint was not enough color to cover that up. It is moisturizing and I love how it is a twist up pencil! No sharpening at all! Just twist the bottom of the pencil to make more product appear.

tart LipSurgence lip tint swatch

FULL SIZE Essie Luxeffects polish, in color as gold as it gets. (as you can see, my birchbox has a gold theme this month) Retails: $8 USD and you can buy them HERE because birchbox does not sell them on their site. I already own a Luxeffects polish in color shine of the times and I LOVE it. These polishes are best when worn over another polish and they give a beautiful shimmer to the nail rather than giant chunks of glitter!

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BIRCHBOXES YET!!

WAS YOUR BIRCHBOX AS COOL AS MINE?

TruvĂa® natural sweetener Product Review

Another great product in my Influenster Lovevoxbox was a sweetener called Truvia. I am not a person that uses sweeteners on a regular bases because they have a horrible chemical taste but this one is really quite good. The first time I used it was in a cup of Stash tea(also in my lovevoxbox) to sweeten it up a bit and it was wonderful. No nasty chemical taste or no nasty lingering after taste.

A little about Truvia natural sweetener
1.It is 0 calories
2.It is made from the stevia leaf extract and not parts of the stevia leaf
3. It is gluten-free
4.It is save for Diabetics to use
5.It look like regular sugar grain

I ate strawberries earlier today and tested out the difference in taste from regular sugar to Truvia. I poured a packet of Truvia on top of a few berries then did the same with regular sugar...you can barley taste a difference. Truvia actually tasted a little sweeter that regular sugar. I am surprised with this product because I cannot stand most sweeteners, this one I really like!

HAVE YOU TRIED TRUVIA NATURAL SWEETENER? HOW DO YOU THINK IT COMPARES?

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor Review

As most of you all know I received an Influenster Love voxbox the month of February and this wonderful razor was in the box. Its a Gillette Venus Razor with Olay moisture strips on BOTH ends!!! YAY!!! This  razor is 5 blades so it can make for a really close shave. I usually use a men's 5 blade razor because that is the only thing that I have found to give me a close enough shave...until I used this one! This razor gave me just as close of a shave and the moisture strips kept me from having to use shaving gel. Now I will say, that I can stretch my men's razor for a few shaves, I'm not sure if this one will make it past 2 uses.

The head of the Gillette Venus & Olay razor sits on a pivot and is rounded so it can go over my bony little knees without slicing them up causing ouchys. :) The moisture strips consist of  Petrolatum to lock in moisture and Glycerin. Oh and not to mention it has an awesome vanilla scent!

The price tag is about normal for most razors of this extent. $8.99 to $10.99 USD for the Razor handle and 1 blade and a hanger to keep it  your shower wall.
Replacement blades run about $14.99- $19.99 for 3 replacements

Disclaimer: I was sent this product for free through the Influenster voxbox program. All opinions are my own and 100% honest.

St. Patty's Day

St. Pattys Day is this weekend and I came up with a pretty green look for that day :) I am using the green section of my Crown Brush 78 shadow and blush palette

1.Light green color all over lid and under lower lash line
2.Darker forest green in crease and on lower lash line
3.Green/blue color slightly above crease

Makeup geek color in shimma shimma as highlight

What I thought was fun was using a bent liner brush dipped into my tough as taupe Maybelinne color tattoo shadow and used as gel liner on my top lash line!  It worked great!!

What else is on my face

Aveda dual powder foundation in color honey
Maybelline Instant age rewind Concealer in color 120 and the pink brightener
A Dark rose blush from the crown brush 78 palette

Lips

Revlon Lip Butter in color Raspberry Pie

Mascara
Maybelline the Classic Volume Express Mascara in color very black

Soleil Tan De Chanel

I have heard wonderful things about the Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzer for awhile now and  the only reason why I have not purchased it sooner is because of the $48.00 price tag! I mean really, 48 bucks for some bronzer! Well I finally broke down and bought the stuff because I have been wanting it since last summer and even though its 48 dollars, its still cheaper than most other Chanel face products!
You get 1oz of product

The product itself is a cream, but its a very hard cream. You can tip the container upside down and the product wont move. It feels super silky going on the skin, it dries almost matte and it stays put! I have tried a few different brushes with this product and found alot of my brushes shed and the bristles get stuck in the product. The brush that Ive found to work the best is  my Bare Escentuals Flawless application brush. It does not seem to shed and it picks up enough product to sweep all over your face if you want a bronze glow it can also be used for light contouring.
I know the swatch looks orange on my hand but blended in, this product has no orange cast on my skin at all. If you look at it really close it has just a slight gold shimmer but it does not look shimmery on the skin. It also has a very slight flower scent (that's only if you stick your nose up to the product). This bronzer can be used all over the body for a very pretty natural glow. I cant wait until summer so I can have a bronze self...:)

This is what it looks like on my face.

HAVE YOU TRIED THIS BRONZER?

International Women's Day and my 3 Fav Red Lip Products

March 8th (Today!) is International Women's Day and to celebrate this day you are supposed to wear Red Lipstick...

IVE GOT MINE ON...DO YOU? :)

Here are my 3 Favorite  Red Lipsticks/Glosses

Revlon Lipstick in Crimson- A beautiful  brick red color that is very long lasting!

Crimson

NYX Lipgloss in Copper Penny- A moisturizing deep red with a hint of copper. I love how the NYX glosses go on smooth and are not sticky and they smell great...It reminds me of  raspberry Popsicles! Ive had this one for awhile cant you tell? The words are all wore off.

Copper Penny

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color in color All Day Cherry- The name sums it up, It is a wonderful cherry red color. I love these 24 hour colors because they really do stay on ALL night!!! I wear this color alot when I got out bar hopping or to parties or anywhere that I don't want to look for a mirror every two seconds. All you need to do is sweep the color on, let it dry and top it with the gloss it comes with (or whatever gloss u have) and there you go. The color stays put and the gloss is the only thing you need to touch up. No need for a mirror to touch up clear gloss.(or at least I don't need one)

All Day Cherry

(Swatches from left to right)
Revlon-Crimson, NYX-Copper Penny, Maybelline- All Day Cherry(the swatch looks slightly on the purple side but it is really a cherry red color, im not sure why it look like that in the picture :/)

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE RED LIPSTICKS?
