NYX Nude on Nude Palette

Nude palettes are all the rage right now! So of course I wanted to partake in this nude frenzy but one of the reasons why I have not jumped onto the Urban Decay Naked palettes is because I found NYX Nude on Nude palette for half the price! $25.00!!
NYX Nude on Nude palette description stated on their site:

"NYX Nude on Nude set is a classy medleyof 20 neutral eye shadows and 10 vibrant lip colors that work for everyskin tone and every occasion. This makeup palette comes with a mirrorand 2 applicators for your lips and eyes, making it perfectly portable"

Swatches starting with top row tan highlight shade.

Swatches starting with second row white highlight shade.

Eyeshadows:
The shade range in this palette is pretty good! There is a decent mix of shimmers and mattes, lights and darks in colors ranging from cool browns and taupe/grays to warm chocolate browns and golds. Although, I feel this palette does lean a little more on the cool side but, it will work great for all sorts of skin tones! None of the shadows have big chunks of glitter and most go on smooth. There are a few shades that blend in with my skin tone so in the above photos they could be hard to spot.

Lipcolors:
A pull out tray containing 10 lipcolors can be found just under the main area where the shadows sit. Honestly I am not a huge fan of using lipcolors in palette form. It gets to messy for me. I have tried a few on and the colors are very pretty but carrying this palette around for lipcolor touch ups would be a hassle. I wish they would have put a couple of travel size glosses in that tray  instead. Then they could have been easily transported in your makeup bag.

Overall:
Because I do not own neither of the Naked palettes I cannot do a swatch comparison between the 3 palettes all I can say is that I find myself gravitating towards NYX Nude on Nude on a daily bases. I can have a subtle daytime look or a sultry smokey eye with the use of this palette alone! This is also why it was one of my favorite products of 2012!

Maybelline color tattoo 24hr metal Inked in Pink

The Maybelline color tattoo line keeps getting better and better! With the release of the 24hr Metals these have to be my favorite formula of the color tattoos yet!

The only one I really wanted from this line was inked in pink. I had a shadow that was close to this color that I used almost everyday and I can no longer get so I was hoping this would take its place... needles to say...IT HAS! I have been wearing this almost everyday. The formula is super creamy and easy to apply. I have been using this WITHOUT a base and have not had any problems with it creasing on me (some of the other color tattoos crease on me if I don't use a base beforehand).
I like this one so much I think I want the rest of them! :)

Wet n Wild Fergie Metrpolitan Nights Palette Swatches

As I was walking around Walgreens, I spotted the Wet in Wild Fergie makeup display that everyone has been talking about the past few weeks. So, of course I had to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up purchasing an eyeshadow palette.

The gold color in this really stood out to me so I had to have it!

The colors do not have names so Ill try to describe what I think the colors look like,
from left to right;
~A shimmery pearl white ( this feels so smooth and velvety as I was swatching)
~24 caret gold with gold glitter
~Matte black with gold glitter
~A very unique color, it looks to me like its a shimmer mix of light olive green and gold (also very smooth and velvety) What do you think the color looks like?
~Matte Black

Here is an everyday look I did using this palette.
MAC Painterly Paintpot was used for base.

Application
I had to reapply the olive gold shade to my lids a few times because the color would not adhere to my lids for some reason. That surprised me since the texture felt so smooth. I ended up using my finger and tapping it on my lids. Maybe I need new brushes or something. I used the black with gold glitter as the outer V color and most of the gold glitter fell off as if the glitter was only on the surface of the shadow but, this color was easy to blend. As for the actual gold color that made me purchase this palette it is very pretty. I decided to use it as a pop of color on the lower lash line. There was some fall out and I did have to reapply it a few times to make the color more vibrant as I did not have a gold base to match this color.  I'm thinking the new gold maybelline 24 hr color tattoo would make a great base for this shadow.

Staying Power
I wore this look for about 8 hours at work and it held up pretty good, I did notice a little fading from the olive gold color but I expected that since it had trouble sticking to my lids in the first place.

Remarks
I think once I play with it a few more times I will figure out exactly how to get these shadows to stick to my lids better. Although the colors are pretty, I don't see myself running off to buy another palette anytime soon.

My Walmart did not have the full line of products. They had Lipbutter, Lipgloss Mascara and Nail Polish. I opted for a Lipbutter but did carry around a pretty orange polish but I put it back at the last minute. I'm not sure why.
 It looked like this...
Flower Nail'd It Nail Lacquer, NP9 Eye of Tiger Lily, 0.4 fl oz

No on to the Lip Butter I purchased, It is a beautiful rosy peach color called Sheer Snapdragon.

The formula of this lipbutter is very creamy. It gives alot of shine to your lips like a regular gloss but has better staying power. The color is build able but I found going over my lips twice was sufficient. It is more sheer than the Revlon Lipbutters but has more color payoff in one application than the Maybelline Color Whispers. I do get a warming sensation when wearing this product followed by itchiness. It is supposed to have a plumping effect and even though I didn't feel a tingle that warming sensation could have been the plumping ingredient in the product as for the itchy feeling, My guess is because of the scent.
The only thing I cannot stand about this product is the smell! To me, it smells like straight honeysuckle. Bach!! I know the line is called Flower but I was not expecting it to smell SO floral. Some people might love it but I personally cannot stand extremely floral scents, it makes me feel itchy for some reason, hence why I felt itchy after I put it on. Maybe I'm allergic, who knows. It sucks too because I love the color but I don't think Ill be able to wear this lip butter. I hope the other products don't have this scent or I wont be able to test out anymore. I really want to try out the shadows, concealer and BB cream.

2013 Resolutions

I just want to say Happy New Year everyone!! I can't believe 2012 is over already! I feel like each year goes by faster than the next. Anyone agree? With that said,
The start of a new year means the start of new beginnings and well, since the world hasn't ended (I didn't think it was going to anyhow) I wanted to write down my top 3 resolutions for the year.
I can honestly say that I never make resolutions. I have a hard time following them but there are a few things I REALLY need to work on so, I came up with a little handwritten list. They may seem unimportant compared to other people's but, if I can concur these 3 little things my life will be MUCH easier! I plan on doing follow up posts on the first 2 resolutions, the 3rd will be on all of your(my wonderful readers) feed! :)
So, without further ado here are my 2013 Resolutions:

Do you like my Tinkerbell paper? I thought it was cute. :)

WHAT ARE YOUR RESOLUTIONS? HOW D YOU PLAN TO STICK TO THEM?
