Wet n Wild Fergie Metrpolitan Nights Palette Swatches

As I was walking around Walgreens, I spotted the Wet in Wild Fergie makeup display that everyone has been talking about the past few weeks. So, of course I had to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up purchasing an eyeshadow palette.

The gold color in this really stood out to me so I had to have it!

The colors do not have names so Ill try to describe what I think the colors look like,
from left to right;
~A shimmery pearl white ( this feels so smooth and velvety as I was swatching)
~24 caret gold with gold glitter
~Matte black with gold glitter
~A very unique color, it looks to me like its a shimmer mix of light olive green and gold (also very smooth and velvety) What do you think the color looks like?
~Matte Black

Here is an everyday look I did using this palette.
MAC Painterly Paintpot was used for base.

Application
I had to reapply the olive gold shade to my lids a few times because the color would not adhere to my lids for some reason. That surprised me since the texture felt so smooth. I ended up using my finger and tapping it on my lids. Maybe I need new brushes or something. I used the black with gold glitter as the outer V color and most of the gold glitter fell off as if the glitter was only on the surface of the shadow but, this color was easy to blend. As for the actual gold color that made me purchase this palette it is very pretty. I decided to use it as a pop of color on the lower lash line. There was some fall out and I did have to reapply it a few times to make the color more vibrant as I did not have a gold base to match this color.  I'm thinking the new gold maybelline 24 hr color tattoo would make a great base for this shadow.

Staying Power
I wore this look for about 8 hours at work and it held up pretty good, I did notice a little fading from the olive gold color but I expected that since it had trouble sticking to my lids in the first place.

Remarks
I think once I play with it a few more times I will figure out exactly how to get these shadows to stick to my lids better. Although the colors are pretty, I don't see myself running off to buy another palette anytime soon.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE WET N WILD FERGIE PALETTES?

  1. the look you created is gorgeous!! I passed on the eyeshadows just cause I have so much as it is and they really didn't stick out too me. I thought they were pretty though.

    1. Thank you! Yeah not much of the Fergie line stood out to me either except for this palette and a lipstick.
