Snap Shot Sunday's 3/30/14 My Favorite Jeans!!

Today's snapshot Sunday's post is not going to be an outfit of the day but rather a post about my favorite pairs of jeans. I have no idea why it is so hard to find that perfect pair of jeans? I mean, seriously, practically every store has their own brand of jeans yet I can never find any that fit right? Whats up with that?  I know I am not the only girl out there that struggles to find "that pair". Right??
I am going to show you all my 3 favorites right now and they are all pretty affordable. But before I get into the photos let me tell you my issue with finding jeans...

  • I have short legs! They are always 3-5 inches too long so I have to wear heels, roll them up or get them hemmed.Oh, and I'm 5'4" so I am short but not extremely short.
  • My butt is big for how small I am. I can typically wear juniors and kids sizes but sometimes the straight fit doesn't go over my butt well.
  • My waste is tiny. If they fit my butt they usually have a gap in the waste.

   Ok,onto my 3 favorites:

First up is Hollister Co.
I have been wearing Hollister jeans for a good 10 years now. Some people love them and some people hate them. I like them because I never have any issues with the gap in the waste, the pockets actually sit on my butt instead of underneath and they come in regular, long and short inseam lengths. (I buy short length) I tend to go for the boot cut and flare designs as they fit me best and the skinny designs are way to skinny for my butt. The ones in the photo are boot cut in a medium wash. They sit on the waste and are tight through the thigh. They also have some stretch to them. I got this pair on sale for $25USD

Second pair is Forever XXI
These jeans are the Everyday Skinny Jeans and are only $7.80 USD. They are extremely comfortable, have a lot of stretch and come in different washes. The pair I have are in a darker denim wash. Sometimes they can be a little long on me but that's ok because they shrink a bit when you put them in the dryer. The only bad thing I would say about them is they get stretched out way to easily and i need to wear a belt to keep myself from pulling them up every two seconds.

Last pair (and my newest "had to get") MissMe
I have been on a hunt to find a pair of Miss Me jeans for awhile now. My friend got me talked into buying some since she raves about how comfortable they are, how they are stretchy but not too stretchy and how none of the embellishments fall off them and she says they are the only jeans she wears ( which is true, shes wears the shorts and capris too) So I decided to go hunt for a pair, and hunt I did because whenever I would try them on I would have the waste gap issue with every pair until  I finally found this pair at Belk in the, wait for it... little kids section!  Yes, the little kids section. That same friend told me to check the little girls section as they have some of the smaller sizes and she thought I would fit into them better. She was right! I will say it is weird trying on clothes on an area where the sizes range from 2 toddler and up.
These jeans are a little on the pricey side ranging from $86-$109 USD. Mine were $86 but I got them on sale for $56.24 USD after taxes. I love all glittery detail to the pockets. The ones in the photo are a boot cut in a medium wash with fading and a sequin Fleur DE Lis pattern on the back pockets. These fit a little higher at the waste and are tight through the thigh with a slight flair.

So there you have it, my 3 favorite pairs of jeans! :)

                                               What are your favorite jeans?

Lorac Lipgloss in Alex

My local Sephora had the entire line of Lorac products on clearance. Apparently they are not carrying Loac anymore and are using the space to make room for some new brands. I'm pretty excited about new brands coming to my local sephora and if I need Loac I can go to Ulta for that. But anyway, I notice the Lorac display had a clearance sign so I started poking around and let me tell you, that display was BARE!! I have no idea how long it's been on sale but all they had left was a few dark shades of foundation, a very pink highlighter pen, 1 mascara and about 3 lip glosses. I opted for one of the lip glosses. I got it for $9.00 :)

Lorac Lipgloss in Alex:

When I took the gloss out if the package I was surprised by the fun layered effect of the product. The display tube was all blended together into a pretty mauve/ pink shade.

Look at those glitter pieces! So fun!

2 coats on top of bare lips.
This formula is sheer when worn alone.

This gloss feels nice on the lips, isn't sticky and lasts for about an hour maybe 2 before you need to reapply. The glitter shown in the tube is very subtle on the lips and the colors mixed together make a very nice neutral pink shade that is good for everyday wear.

                                               Have you tried Lorac Lipgloss?

Snapshot Sundays 3/23/14 Dreamcatcher.

Today's snapshot Sunday features this handmade tunic tank from vintage surcees. The owner makes all sorts of things and this shirt is one of them. A coworker of mine had a black and white top with arrows painted on the front, when I asked her where she got it she told me surcees made them so I went in, talked to the owner and she made me this cute little shirt. I picked the front design and the fabric colors.
My favorite color is blue so when I saw this cotton ribbed fabric color I HAD to have it! She showed me a few designs for the screen print on the front and I chose the dream catcher. I love the tribal vibe of them.
I paired this tunic with all black so the pretty blue color could pop.

I knew I wanted something different for the back and as we were going through different fabrics this print really caught my eye. Its a silky material with a crazy black and white print and colorful butterflies that have the same color blue in them as the front fabric.

Jewelry was very low key, all I wore were these leaf earrings.

Where to get it:
Tunic~ Vintage surcees
Long Sleeve Shirt~ Aeropostale (no black ones on the website but JC Penny has a similar style)
Leggings~Charlotte Russe
Shoes~TOMS
Earrings~ old (similar)

Green Eye of the day using Wet n Wild comfort zone palette.

I wanted to post a quick eye of the day using the wet n wild eye shadow palette in comfort zone. I am really loving the colors this palette has!

All I did was take the pretty green shade (marked lid) and put that all over my lid and in the middle portion of my lower lashline next I used the brown/green duo chrome shade (marked crease) and put that into my crease using a windshield wiper motion, next I used the deep brown shade (marked outer V) on the outer portion of my eye, slightly into the crease area and on the outer portion of my lower lashline and last I used the beige shade (marked browbone) right on my browbone and inner corners of my eyes.

This look is very easy to do and I have been wearing it for the past few days now. I don't know about you, but I love me some green eyeshadow!!!

Snapshot Sundays 3/16/14 Vintage Yellow Polka Dots

Today's Snapshot Sunday features this super cute vintage wrap around skirt I purchased at surceess. I paired it with a lightweight off white front tie cardigan a bright green bandeau top, cowboy boots and of course, my Alex and Ani bangles. I am not exactly sure this skirt is made out of but since it is from the 1970's era my guess would be polyester. Whatever it is made from feels really nice and soft and is so comfortable to wear. I have never owned and actual wrap skirt. Most "wrap" clothing now looks like it could be one piece of fabric that you wrap around yourself but it isn't, this skirt is the real thing. It took me a few tries to to wrap it around and tie it securely but when I finally got it, it stayed on just fine. I did wear a slip under it...just encase ;)
